April 3: Why are outdoor fall weddings in Fauquier County so popular? Because it’s beautiful around here!! Derek and Mary Lela’s October 13th wedding was another one of those magical fall days at the Retreat at Eastwood. Sunny afternoon skies, chilly evenings by the fireplace, warm hearts everywhere – count this one as a classic, yet unique fall wedding. Mary Lela chose gorgeous maroon bridesmaid gowns and complimented them with flashes of her snazzy shoes of the same color. Derek, the ultimate chill groom, along with his super fun groomsmen kept the atmosphere light and lively with lots of laughs and smiles throughout the day. One of them even strummed his guitar out in the gardens filling everyone with that chill ambiance. Derek and Mary Lela married in our gorgeous Gazebo garden which was embellished with a beautiful handmade arbor through which the guests and the bridal party entered. The reception was so perfectly fitted for the barn as guests cuddled up to the outdoor fireplace during the cocktail hour, dined at tables adorned by flower arrangements made by family members, and belted out tunes during a karaoke sing along. We’ve seen the “shoe game” played here before, and it’s always so much fun and very engaging for the guests. Derek and Mary Lela’s version was no exception! Beloved friends and family sent off our bride and groom with a beautiful, bright sparkler exit and snacked on delicious candy jars that Mary Lela had prepared herself to take away. What a pleasure it was having such a warm, delightful couple as Derek and Mary Lela wrap up our 2018 wedding season. Here’s wishing them a lifetime of happiness!

March 14: Let’s talk about some of our favorite things: Gorgeous October afternoons, sangria, homemade cookie tables, and adorable brides and grooms. Carly and Nick, aka Hokie Love Birds, had all these things and more for their October 6th wedding. The early 6:00am start to the day was no damper on the cheery mood of the bridesmaids who all showed up, coffees in hand, ready for the hair and makeup glamming to begin. Before we knew it, the wedding party departed for St. John’s church for the beautiful ceremony and the awesome team of vendors set to finalize the details for the cocktail hour and reception down at the Barn. By midday, guests were welcomed to the patio with cold sangrias and snacks while the bridal party took advantage of the beautiful gardens for their photos. Thanks to the efforts of Nick’s family, guests also viewed a touching video of Nick and Carly’s lives together including special moments with their families and friends. Dinner, dancing and toasts were capped off with a slice of one of the newer trends: naked wedding cakes! We would like to give a special nod to Carly’s amazingly sweet, wonderful and organized mother – Cheryl Kowalcyzk. Her delightful touch of style and detail was felt every step of the way. We wish Carly and Nick a life of joy and love and God’s richest blessings. Thank you for letting Eastwood be a part of your wedding.

March 6, 2019: So, every wedding weekend is a celebration weekend. However, Margy and Will took it to a whole other level. Beginning Friday evening after the rehearsal, an intimate dinner was hosted in our historical Balch House. Tables adorned with family heirloom china, classic linens and romantic orchids staged what we consider the final moments with family before the onslaught of life-long friends and co-workers. After all, both bride and groom are from Warrenton and there was no shortage of well-wishers lining up to share in the celebrations. After dinner, Will’s family hosted a lovely rehearsal party in our rustic Barn. Complete with an authentic Blue Grass band the crowd enjoyed a beautiful fall night out under the stars. Up bright and early the next day, Margy hosted a memorable bridal luncheon in our Manor House dining room. Surrounded by the people who mean the most to her, Margy relaxed and prepared for the big event! The weather, as usual this year, looked a bit sketchy, but also, as usual, the sun popped out just in time for photos and their ceremony. After a very emotional ceremony – Margy’s father was a happy mess – their guests wandered down to the Barn which was decorated with several personal touches. Dancing was a supplemental theme of this celebration as it continued until the very last note. More toasts, more tears, and many special moments added to this memorable day in honor of the joining of these two wonderful people and their families.
Congratulations to Mr. and Mrs. William Thomas

February 27, 2019: Not that 2018 was dry or uneventful weather-wise anyway, but there’s a difference between a rainy wedding day and a Hurricane 4 rainy wedding day. That’s exactly what our delightful couple, Sam and Richard, were facing as weather forecasters suggested that Hurricane Florence would hit the area just in time for their September 15th wedding. Thank goodness the weathermen never get it right! While we did have to make some changes to the plan regarding adding a tent for the ceremony and making extensive backup plans in case the weather scenario was as bad as predicted, our Sam and Richard optimistically planned for the worse and hoped for the best. Thankfully, they ended up with a rain free, love filled day. Our beautiful bride and groom were all smiles as you can see from this stunning first look photo. A big shout out to the awesome photography of Michael & Laura Photography!

February 20, 2019: This special day began with an early morning yoga practice in the loft of our barn. And what’s a yoga practice without Bloody Mary’s and Mimosa’s at the conclusion? These 2 young doctors fresh out of medical school, decided to risk the weather and say their vows in our dreamy Gazebo Garden. Luck was on their side as the sun broke out and not a drop was felt during the ceremony. As the guests made their way down to The Barn for cocktails and the dinner reception, they were greeted by the most creative seating chart we’ve ever seen at Eastwood. Misty and Ryan bundled old and current photos of every guest taken with one or both of them and grouped them around a table number. It was a clear indication of how much every attendee meant to the couple. A close connection to each and every guest was evident as the night rolled on with toasts, dancing and even their sparkler send-off. One of the many highlights of the night was when Misty surprised Ryan with a choreographed dance performed by her and her closest friends – learned and practiced only that morning! This adorable, intern couple will be super busy these next few years as they advance their career’s, so we are honored to be a part of the beginning of their life together. We wish them the BEST of luck and may they find time to remember what brought them together in the first place!
Cheers to Drs. Misty and Ryan Kasky!

February 13, 2019: Emotions ran the gamut this past May with the uniting of two families that traveled thousands of miles to see Angelica and Matt celebrate their marriage. “Family” was the undeniable theme throughout the day. Relatives and friends traveled from all over the country, including California, Florida, and even several areas in South America! After a beautiful Catholic Church ceremony, guests arrived to Eastwood ready to celebrate! I would be remiss if
I didn’t mention the impeccable style created by Angelica’s talented design team consisting of her mother, father, aunts, uncles, brothers and cousins. It was truly a sentimental family affair. The barn was dressed in white billowy fabrics with floral arrangement of blue hydrangeas, cream and blush pink roses – all delicately created by family. The weather was spectacular which only enhanced the beauty of photos taken of this fun couple throughout the Eastwood property! Sweet Angelica had a hard time keeping the tears at bay during all the emotional toasts of best wishes to the happy couple. Matthew, surrounded by brothers and childhood friends was just as blessed to have several family and friends travel far distances to see him marry the love of his life. From itty bitty babies to grandparents, the festive barn was filled with friends, family and love. These two are truly blessed and are assured a very happy future together!

February 6, 2019: Another beautiful, warm, sunny, spring day at Eastwood – just a perfect day for a memorable wedding! Caitlin and Jorge took their vows and welcomed families and friends from as far away as Peru, in the late afternoon on the stairs of our signature Gazebo Garden. The lush colors and fragrances of the romantic garden greeted guests as they took their seats and waited for the big event. Such a fun-loving couple, the day was filled with details that represented their personalities and love they have for each other. The quaint Ciao Bella Trolley was secured to transport guests from the gardens down to the unique barn where the cocktail hour, dinner and dancing continued well into the night. A visit from Warrenton’s beloved “Carousel” Ice Cream truck surprised everyone as Caitlin and Jorge kept it a secret from the guests. Ice cream for all on the house!! A sparkler exit preceded the final surprise of the night. This time it was from Caitlin to her new husband: An old M3 BMW – one of Jorge’s other loves – cars! Check out all the details of the day on the link below, written by their photographer: Petie Tucker. Congratulations to this sweet, beautiful couple!

January 30, 2019: The festivities began after the rehearsal on Friday night. Matthew’s family hosted a lovely, intimate rehearsal dinner for the bride and groom to-be in our charming barn. A perfect lead-in to a gorgeous spring day and a picture-perfect setting in our Urn Garden for the fairytale wedding of Meg and Matthew. Meg truly looked like a princess in a lace covered, airy, slightly blush colored gown. Matthew and his groomsmen looked elegantly regal in their tuxedos with silver accents. Not a single detail was overlooked as the cocktail hour in the Gazebo Garden flowed seamlessly into the tented Stonelea Site for dinner and dancing. With blush pink up-lighting and a combination of banquet tables and rounds, the scene was right out of a picture book. No one wanted the night to end! Congratulations to Meg and Matthew – we wish you the happiest of journeys ahead.

January 17, 2019: On March 6th, 2018 we received an inquiry for an April 14thwedding. After a little emailing back and forth, we realized that Lisa was speaking about April of 2018 – as in five weeks away! We agreed to meet as soon as possible and were immediately drawn to Lisa and Brian’s surprisingly relaxed and easy-going attitude about their wedding. The details fell together beautifully from their stunning altar which was handmade by Brian to their ambitious homemade cake and cookies dessert bar. Even the weather gifted them with a beautiful, warm and sunny day to celebrate (unlike the weekends before and afterwards which were rainy and cold). Evidence of truly kind and generous hearts, Lisa and Brian shared their day with a Happy Birthday salute to a special little guy, Jack Jack, whose birthday coincided with the wedding and a beloved Auntie who’d also recently celebrated a milestone birthday. Special cakes (made by Lisa) were brought out for both of those special guests right alongside the wedding cake. Lisa and Brian truly embraced their mantra that their wedding was meant to be a celebration about family, friends and a lifetime of love. What a pleasure to be a part of the union of these two fantastic people!

January 10, 2019: Happy New Year! We are so excited to begin our 3rd full year of being the premier event venue in Fauquier County and Northern Virginia! We had a very successful 2018 and are eager to introduce to you our AWESOME couples we had the privilege of getting to know. Each wedding had their own unique look and feel. By no means do we imply that we can capture the true feeling of the celebrations, but we will give you a simple glimpse into these special and meaningful days. We welcomed 2 Eastwood babies this year and a 3rd is on the way! Keep checking back and we will post details of all our exciting news as the year progresses. We want to thank each and every family that gave us the privilege of contributing to their most special day! It is truly an honor to work with you and consider you part of our family.
We also had quite a few private and corporate events this year. Eastwood is beginning to show it’s versatility as word gets out that we will do everything in our power to accommodate the needs of our clients. We can’t wait to explore new relationships in the current year. Cheers to all for a healthy, happy and prosperous 2019!
April 16, 2018: Another beautiful September weekend welcomed the union of Jackie and Rafa, our adorable bride and groom who have been sweethearts since their high school days. They chose to host their ceremony amongst the boxwoods, hydrangeas and oak tree of the Gazebo Garden where they exchanged heartfelt vows and prayers over each other. Guests mingled at the cocktail hour in front of the house before they made their way to the Urn Garden where beautiful magnolia leaved centerpieces with crisp white blooms dressed the tables and the overhead cafe lights gave a perfect ambiance. Toasts, in both English and Spanish were given and the happy couple spent the rest of the evening dancing and enjoying congratulations and well wishes from their friends and families. Many blessings to our Rafa and Jackie!

April 3, 2018: Just a couple of weeks away from their wedding day, Meghan and Alex had to change their venue! Can you imagine? Thank goodness we had their date available and their arrangements where switched to Eastwood! What an honor to be their choice! Although there was a bit of last minute adjustments, the day turned out perfectly. From cooperating weather, to all the guests and vendors getting the “memo”, the happy couple was the picture of calm as everything fell nicely into place. Dinner was enjoyed under the bistro lighting above our Urn Garden and then dancing concluded the night under the stars in our charming Gazebo Garden. We like to think all things happen for a reason, and therefore the change in plans was meant to be, as is the marriage of Alex and Meghan.

February 20, 2018: They couldn’t have asked for a more perfect September day in Virginia. As the afternoon wound down, Ashley and Kyle took their emotional marriage vows surrounded by family, friends and the memories of loved ones no longer with them. Even their beloved Lulu, their adorable and very well behaved Havanese pup made an appearance. Dogs are always welcome at Eastwood! The Gazebo Garden was in full bloom with the late summer colors and the fall plantings just beginning to show. As the guests made their way down to the barn for the celebration, they were greeted by 4’ tall letters of “L O V E”. It couldn’t have been a more perfect night!

November 15, 2017: On a beautiful summer day in June, Danny and Susan took their vows in the shade of an Oak tree located in our Gazebo Garden. Surrounded by family that attended from as far away as Turkey, and joined by many Warrentonians, the couple enjoyed a perfect, fairy-tale day. From the hand made silk linens brought over from Turkey that adorned each dining table to the generations-old “engagement bundle”, every detail of this special day was filled with symbolism and sentimentality. Garnishing his Dressed Blues, Danny was surrounded by family and fellow Marines as he pledged his life to Susan. One of our favorite parts of our job here at Eastwood is that we get to share the uniqueness of every couple. It’s an honor to witness the moment when two families are joined forever.
Congratulations to Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Bounds:

October 31, 2017: Happy Halloween! — Time to introduce you to Tray and Emily Allen! Their wedding day began early with rain showers, but the bridal party – both bridesmaids and groomsmen had more fun with the rain drops and rain boots! Then… right on queue… the skies cleared and the sun peeked out and stayed out, JUST as Emily was walking up the stairs to take her wedding vows with Tray. The barn loft lended itself to a most romantic and lovely setting! We were actually hoping for a few rain drops to fall on our copper roof during the ceremony! Nature can sometimes make the most beautiful music!
